Invitation to participate in St Ignatius event in London on 30 July 2021
Dear Jesuit Alumnus/a
What is your Cannonball moment?
It was on 20 May 1521 that a cannonball smashed into the leg of young Basque knight, Inigo of Loyola, in the battle of Pamplona and the rest, as they say, is history. As Fr General Arturo Sosa put it, ‘not so much a happy ending, but rather a happy beginning!’
As part of the Ignatius 500 year of activities and in recognition of the founder of the Jesuits, at 6.00pm on Friday 30 July 2021, we will once again host our annual Mass at Farm Street Church (W1K 3AH), the headquarters of Jesuits in Britain, for all alumni/ae of Jesuit schools and colleges and, of course, for their families and friends.
Depending upon Government guidelines after 19 July, there is a possibility, weather permitting, that we may be able to offer you a drink outdoors in Mount Street Gardens after the Mass subject to the permission of Westminster Council.
You may also participate in this Mass by watching it on the live stream page of the Farm Street Church web site at www.farmstreet.org.uk
Please do come to this special event to meet each other and to celebrate the Feast Day of St Ignatius.
Thank you and we in the Jesuit Community at Farm Street look forward to seeing you.
Best wishes
Fr Dominic Robinson SJ
