Winter Camp 2019
It’s that time of the year again where Men meant for each other gear up to lend a hand to a faltering brother and lift up the lame and slow. The Twin Towers are open wide, once again, for the WINTER CAMP - 2019 for the underprivileged kids from around the area. St Joseph’s School (North Point), Darjeeling is all set with a whole month of activities for the unprivileged.
This has been an event the School organises every winter for the Society and the Darjeeling North Point School Alumni Association (DNPSAA) is actively involved. The first day of the camp witnessed a registration of 357 students from classes III to X. The numbers are expected to rise further in the next two days of registration and is expected to cross the maximum number of 650 students, which was of the last winter camp.
The registered students were all provided with I-cards today. A group of volunteers (more than 40 current North Point students) helped in the registrations and they will be a part of the Winter Camp throughout the month. Everyday the program is set to start at 8:30 in the morning. A routine is set for activities as well as academics everyday which ends at noon after which lunch is provided to all the Winter Camp students by the School. The Camp would have a month full of activities like Yoga, Art, Eastern Classical Music, Western Music, Zumba, Classical Dancing, Contemporary Dancing, Origami, Philately, Educational Tours, Motivational Talks, Sports, Painting, Value Education, Awareness Talks, Medical Camps and many more arranged by the DNPSAA for the underprivileged.
