Dr. Venugopal Govindaraju is an alumnus of my alma St. Xavier's School, Doranda, Ranchi, India, and my batchmate from the Class of 1980.
Dr. Venu Govindaraju, Vice president for research and economic development, is the principal investigator of the National AI Institute for Exceptional Education that is creating AI systems to assist children with speech and language disorders at the University of Buffalo, USA.

Education: Dr. Govindaraju earned his Bachelor’s degree with honors from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur in 1986. He later completed his Ph.D. at SUNY Buffalo in 1992.
